The inhibition effect of arabic gum, a natural product Acacia Senegal, on the corrosion of metallic structural steel S235 in the hydrochloric acid medium was studied using potentiodynamic polarization, spectroscopy measurements electrochemical impedance. Arabic gum gave an inhibition efficiency of 83% for a mass concentration of 0.3% at the ambient temperature. The results obtained from the various corrosion assessments are a good combination. Polarization measurements indicate that arabic gum is a mixed type inhibitor. The adsorption of natural compound on the surface of the steel, in a hydrochloric acid solution, obeys the Langmuir adsorption isotherm.
