Oxadiazole is a five member heterocyclic ring which is a versatile lead compound for designing potent bioactive agents. The presence of heterocyclic structures in different types of compounds is increasing their pharmacological effect. oxadiazole nucleus has emerged as one of the potential pharmacophore responsible for diverse pharmacological properties. This interesting group of compound has diverse biological activities such as antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antitubercular, anticonvulsant, anticancer, anti-HIV, hypogycemic and genotoxic.
